Pregnancy symptoms at 6 weeks

Ever since I found out that I'm pregnant, I've been reading alot about pregnancy. Sebab first time kan, I really don't know what to expect. It's scary but exciting at the same time! I know each pregnancy is different for every women, bukan semua orang dapat rasa symptoms yang sama. Some lucky women don't even know they're pregnant until after the first trimester because takde symptoms at all!

My personal experience, here is what I feel:

  1. Nauseous. Not all the time, the feeling comes on and off. Tapi masa2 yang rasa loya tu, sangatlah loya sampai nak makan/bau apa2 pun tak lalu. Annoying tau, rasa nak muntah sangat2 tapi most of the time tak keluar pun.

  2. Sakit dada. Sakit GILA, extremely sensitive.

  3. Sakit belakang. Your Abah is kind enough to gently massage my lower back whenever I need it.

  4. Pening2 nak pitam. But only at certain times.

  5. Fatique. I'm so easily exhausted! Kadang2 jalan sikit dah mengah. Naik tangga tak payah cerita la, rasa macam panjat gunung. As soon as I get home from work all I want to do is crash on the bed and rest.

  6. Sleepy. ALL. THE. TIME. Ada satu hari tu I slept at 9pm and bangun at 9am the next day. It's the hardest when I'm in the office and I need to WORK but my body and eyes are automatically shutting down.

  7. Emotional. I cry so very easily nowadays!

  8. Bloated. My tummy looks like I'm 4 months preggers. -_- I did some research on this, apparently it's normal to look 4 months pregnant between 4 - 10 weeks because of gas, and because the uterus is expanding. My waist has also slightly expanded I think? Coz my jeans feel tight! :(

  9. The urge to pee more often. This one, lately je I've been feeling like this. Malam2 paling sakit hati sebab kene bangun dari tidur, get over the feeling of pening baru sebab bangun, and turun bawah untuk ke toilet. Ulang 2, 3 kali semalam.

  10. Yellowish/whitish discharge. Thank God for panty liners!

Hope that the next following weeks become easier Inshallah... may Allah make it easier for me, Ameen.

Pregnant! Alhamdulillah. (:

Finally, this blog has meaning. Finally, Inshallah, this blog can be dedicated to my child. Alhamdulillah, all praises be to Allah and Allahuakbar, Allah is truly the greatest. I found out that I am pregnant with my first child on the 7th of December 2012.

I betul2 ingat I was going to get my period the first week of December. My period is always on time, I have an app on my phone that tracks my period and it tells me exactly when I will get my period. Almost 100% of the time, it is accurate.

That week, I was going through all the normal PMS symptoms that I usually get. I was moody. Tetiba pimple besar tumbuh dua, tiga biji kat pipi. Yellowish discharge. Stomach cramps. Sore breasts. I was so sure period akan datang, that the first few days I pakai pad just to be safe.

But then something was different. I was so very tired, and I mula muntah2. Abah you dah mula excited, angkat2 kening kat I. I told him, dah, jangan nak naikkan harapan I. It will only make me disappointed. But he kept insisting, he had a good feeling about this month. It's his birthday month, too (31st December).

So because I was vomitting, he brought me to the clinic. The first time pergi clinic, my period was supposed to be due that day. Doctor suruh buat pregnancy test, and I was upset because I knew I wouldn't be pregnant. But the doctor made me do it anyway. And memang betul, the test was negative. One line je.

Doctor cakap, maybe I have a urine infection. She gave me medicine, but did not give me antibiotics in case I was pregnant. She said, if masih muntah2, come back in 3 days. Three days later, I was still vomiting. The night before, I couldn't sleep. I was tossing and turning, I couldn't get comfortable. And I was sweating. Sebelum ni tak pernah tidur tak pakai selimut, sebab aircond sejuk sangat. Tetiba je berpeluh.

Masa tu I memang tak tahan. Rasa menyampah sangat. So at 5am that morning, I grabbed the pregnancy test that I kept in our room and went to the toilet to test. Sambil tu I mandi sekali, because I had to go to court that morning so kene keluar rumah awal anyway. While I was bathing I put the test kit on the sink. Then after dah sudah pakai towel semua, baru jenguk kat test kit tu... Mashallah, I saw double lines.

The test I did myself.

At first I thought I was seeing it because I wanted to see it so bad, tapi lepas tengok lama2, there it really is. The faint pink line that I've been wanting to see for the past 2 and a half months. Subhanallah. Only Allah knows the feeling I felt, sorang2 pegang kit tu dalam toilet. Happy, TAKUT, excited, relieved, TAKUT.

Terus naik atas, your Abah was still asleep. I lay down next to him and kissed his forehead, suruh dia bangun solat Subuh. Then I told him that I don't like sharing him with anyone. He said, I'm not going anywhere. You don't need to share me. Then I said, actually, I'm going to have to share you soon... then I showed him the test kit.

The look on your Abah's face, sampai bila2 I will remember. He said, "Alhamdulillahhh..." and he closed his eyes, looking very relieved and happy. Ya Allah I thank you just for letting me experience that moment with him. It was perfect.

Tengah hari tu, he brought me back to the clinic. Mula2 we didn't say anything to the doctor, we just told her I still muntah2 and nak test lagi sekali. Then, the result:

The test I did at the doctor's.

Alhamdulillah. Memang confirm, I was pregnant. The doctor congratulated us. Then she asked when was my last period. November 6, I said. Then dia kira2 dekat this round calandar thingy, she said my estimated due date, Inshallah, should be about 13th August 2013. Dia kata the line on the pregnancy test tu samar2, sebab I baru sangat pregnant. At that time I was 4 weeks and a few days pregnant. Kalau lagi lama, lagi terang line tu. Your Abah was so excited he took a picture of the test kit on the doctor's table itself. Tanpa segan silu, hehehe.

When I was 5 weeks and 2 days, I did another test sendiri2. Entah kenapa, it was a spontaneous decision. Rasa macam masih tak percaya I was pregnant, lagi2 sebab the couple of days before tu, tetiba tak rasa loya or muntah.

Inai dekat jari pun masih ada lagi! :')

This time, because it was 5 weeks, the pink test line was as clear as the pink control line. That means there are more hCG circulating around my body, confirming that I am indeed pregnant. Alhamdulillah. I can't feel thankful enough that Allah would grant me this honor of carrying life to bring into this world.

So that was how I found out I was pregnant. Thank you so much for all the doas, the encouragement and the advice. I ask that everyone still keep me in their prayers semoga kandungan ini membesar dengan sihat wal-afiat sehingga selamat bersalin. Ameen ya Rabbal Alameen.

Honeymoon Part III - London

Read about Part I and II of our honeymoon here and here.

When we checked into our hotel, Ramada Encore, they had decorated our room with rose petals and swan-shaped towels! Comel gila! Ahhh the perks of being honeymooners... hehehe.

Our pre-decorated room in London

The hotel we stayed in was modern and decent, because in London most accommodation is expensive and the buildings are old.. the nearer to central London, the older and more expensive it is. So we stayed jauh sikit, in Zone 2. Tapi it was alright, coz the hotel is a 5 minute walk from the tube station and it takes 20 minutes to get to central London.

Some pics of our hotel:

The room

Bathroom. Very basic, nothing fancy.

We did most of the touristy things in London. Tak sempat buat banyak bende, sebab limited days je and it was raining most of the time and it got dark quite early. I wanted to take a hop-on, hop-off bus tour macam we did in Barcelona but since it was raining all the time, we couldn't do that either.

Walking up and down Oxford Street

Famous red telephone booth & Big Ben

Trafalgar Square

We also went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. This is where you go if you nak berangan ambik gambar with celebrities and famous people. Dead celebrities also can.. haha. Kita beratur dekat 2 jam ok just for tickets, SANGAT ramai orang. Bila dah masuk dalam pun, beratur lagi nak tengok the figures.. because it's just too crowded.

The section that features the Twilight cast and Justin Bieber was the MOST crowded so we avoided that altogether. All the teenage girls were taking 100 different poses with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner -_-

Your Abah ni pulak ambik kesempatan pegang2 pinggang Beyonce la, Christina Aguilera lah... amboiii kemain.. nasib baik patung!

Beyonce & Johnny Depp at Madame Tussauds

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie; Messi & Ronaldo at Madame Tussauds

But for me... the highlight of London was going to the Emirates Stadium!! I watched the Arsenal v QPR game on the 27 October (Arsenal menang 1-0 yay!). We couldn't get tickets for your Abah sebab dah sold out atau terlalu mahal, so him being the sweetheart that he is, waited 3 hours for me! :') We also went on the Emirates Stadium Tour!

Outside the stadium

Players' changing room & the pitch

Menggila shopping inside the Armoury

So that concludes the highlights of our honeymoon.. travelling with your Abah is simply the best, he is good at directions and he is patient with me, but he's always punctual and on time which kadang2 buat I stress haha but it's a good thing. (: I will never forget this trip Inshallah, it was a dream come true for the both of us.

Now we can't wait to concentrate on expanding our family! ;)

Honeymoon Part II - Manchester/Barcelona

Read about Part I of our honeymoon here.

The day we got back from Melbourne, was the day we flew off to London! Kira macam stop-over yang slightly panjang.. haha. I don't know how we survived it, though! Penat gila2! We flew from Melbourne - KL in the morning, then KL-Doha-London that night. From one end of the world to the other!

When we arrived at London Heathrow, we took a train a few hours later to Manchester. The reason we had to go to Manchester, is because your Abah wanted to go to Old Trafford Stadium. Home of Manchester United (blerghhh benci). Tapi sebab I sayang your Abah punya pasal, I ikut la like the obedient wife I am. lol

We arrived at Manchester Piccadilly train station at night. Tanya2 the orang kat situ, they said the easiest way to get to Old Trafford is by tram. Our hotel is about 200 meters je from the stadium, so if we got to the stadium we would know how to get to the hotel. So we took the tram.

By the time we arrived at Old Trafford tram stop, it was about 9:30pm. It was dark and very, very silent. And very cold. Dengan tak tau arah tuju ke mana, we started walking and dragging our two huge bags. Bunyi bag tu bising, tayar dia bergolek atas jalan tar. Because it was so quiet, the sound of our bags was really loud.

Tipu la cakap kalau time tu tak takut dan cuak. Takut gila. Siap baca ayat qursi semua. Takut orang tiba2 datang out of nowhere and rob us, dahlah kita tourist kan, and we had ALL our belongings and cash with us, sebab baru sampai.

Then suddenly in front of us, we saw the Old Trafford stadium. Abah you dalam tengah takut2 tu boleh sempat nak ambik2 gambar dalam gelap dan sejuk. Nearby was our hotel. Premier Inn Old Trafford. We LOVED this hotel, definitely recommending it to everyone!

The hotel we stayed in: Premier Inn Old Trafford

This is how close the hotel is from the stadium!

The next day we went on a tour of the Old Trafford stadium. Sebagai peminat setia Arsenal, rasa macam mencemar duli plak masuk enemy territory ni. Tapi Abah you sangat2 teruju and excited, I loved seeing him act like a little boy... so I tagged along. Nasib baik I had a coupon for buy 1 free 1 entrance hehehe.

Old Trafford stadium tour

We stayed 2 nights in Manchester, then took a train back to London. But I won't cerita about London yet, because selang sehari after that we flew to Barcelona pulak! We took a budget airline called Ryan Air (sangat2 budget, sampai free seating) and spent one night in Barcelona.. in THE MOST HORRIBLE APARTMENT IN THE WORLD UGHHH.

It's so horrible that I won't even bother to show you the pictures. But let me just say, there was a very big mirror above the bed, stuck to the ceiling! It's creepy!! Plus toilet dia dah la kecik, tapi ada DUA jamban. One for men and one for ladies, possibly.

Barcelona had its ups and downs for us. On the first day, we realized that the language barrier was going to be a tough one. Not many of the locals speak english, and even if they do, we couldn't understand them or they could not understand us. We also almost got scammed on the first day! A man pretending to be a police officer told us to show him our wallets. He took out the money, duit Pound Sterling je ada (I had all our Euro money in a pouch which I wore under my shirt) pastu dia macam marah, tanya mana duit yang lain. Nasib baik he gave us back the wallet and told us to keep on walking. Then we turned around, he disappeared. Like he had run away. That really killed our mood that day.

But the next day was great Alhamdulillah. We went on a tour of Barcelona. We bought a tourist bus ticket that we could hop on and off at all the major attractions around Barcelona. Oh look pictuuuuuuuuures:

The bus we took, and the stop signs we could jump on and off.

The bus. And us being vain and lovey dovey lol

L'AquĆ rium de Barcelona
Camp Nou, home of Barcelona FC
Park Guell, one of Antoni Gaudi's creations
Antoni Gaudi's best and still unfinished work, La Sagrada Familia

I think that was all our highlights of Manchester and Barcelona. Will talk about our time in London in the next post! :)

2 months of pure bliss.

2 months ago on this date, I married your Abah. In those two months I have learnt more about him than I have before, we have traveled to many countries, experienced many emotions, attended many other weddings and shared laughter and tears which I will not trade for anything.

Here's to 2000 more months together, Inshallah.

Sexual Relations in Islam

I took this from a website quite some time ago, tak ingat website mana... lama saved as draft. If ada sesiapa yg nak in BM, I can try and translate it Inshallah. May this be beneficial to all.

The purpose of Nikah is to become the mutual source of peace, comfort plus enjoyment for one another. The relation between husband and wife is just like a garment, which covers and protects the body. Sex-related aspect of the marriage is the extension of this.

The husbands are asked to become considerate, gentle and loving with his wife or wives, to try to accomplish their needs. A wife is supposed to reserve herself entirely for her husband, plus make efforts to become attractive, along with making herself available to her husband whenever he need her in bed. This last obligation even applies to her husband.

In Islam, every type of relation that leads to sex or bed starts after marriage and is reserved only for the married couple. Every wife and husband is also responsible to honor the solitude of the sexual relations they have as well as should not talk about their bedroom details to any other person or friends.

The rules of husband and wife’s sexual relations in Islam are several and very simple. These are explained below:
  1. Lovemaking relations are for any pleasure of both husband and wife as well as for the procreation associated with children. Sexual intercourse isn’t limited to vaginal sexual penetration however, includes other sorts of sexual caressing for example fondling and kissing of numerous kinds.

  2. Nothing at all should be done which is unpleasant and unhealthy for either person. Everyone has the duty or responsible to be sexually accessible to the other however, neither gets the right to dislike and injure each other.

  3. With some exceptions, any couple could engage in any specific activities, which they enjoy in any manner plus in any position. Almighty Allah rewards these kinds of activities as definitely as he or she punishes sinful activities. Holy Qur’an says,

“Females are your fields. Proceed then in to your fields like you please.”(2:223)

  4. It’s forbidden to get vaginal intercourse whilst a female is menstruating. In accordance to the Sunnah from the Prophet s.a.w., a person and the menstruating wife could however provide one another pleasure as long as this woman vaginal is avoided. Holy Quran is very clear on this issue:

“They inquire you concerning menstruation. Point out: that is the Adha (a harmful issue for a husband to experience a sexual activity with his wife whilst she’s having her menses), subsequently keep away from females during menses plus go not on to them until they’ve purified (from menses and also have taken the bath). And once they have purified on their own, after that go in on to them like Allah has appointed for you (proceed in on to them in any kind of manner so long as it’s in their vagina)”. (Surah Al-Baqarah in 2:222)

  5. You can find hadiths which forbid anal intercourse. Additionally scholars commonly agreed that it’s not permissible. Nevertheless, in his tafsir (comments) Tabaari (third millennium A. H.) whilst forbidding sodomy, states that earlier experts had been divided about the question.

It was reported from Khuzaymah ibn Thaabit (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allah is not too shy to tell you the truth: do not have intercourse with your wives in the anus.” (Narrated by Imaam Ahmad, 5/213; a hasan hadeeth).

Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah will not look at a man who has intercourse with his wife in her anus.” (Narrated by Ibn Abi Shaybah, 3/529; narrated and classed as saheeh by al-Tirmidhi, 1165).

  6. Oral sex is permissible between husband and wife as long as neither swallow semen or vaginal fluid. Also, this should be done with the mutual permission of both spouses. Holy Qur’an and Sunnah are usually silent regarding the various sorts that lovemaking relations might take. Most experts consider that it’s up to the wife and husband in love as well as mutual respect to make the decision how physically communicate their sex-related needs and desires.

  7. What goes on inside bedroom, is a personal matter and shouldn’t be discussed or even revealed to another person until there is any necessity, for instance health or protection.

Abu Hurairah narrates said that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mentioned this regarding people who reveal along with discuss openly their own lovemaking practices: “Do you realize what those people who make this happen are like? Those people who make this happen are similar to a man and woman devil who meet one another on the road plus satisfy their desire whilst the people look them."

  8. In Islam, once any husband has had sex activity with his wife within the legal manner, and also after that wishes to come back another time, it’s much better that he first does another ablution (wudu). Which means: it is better in case he does not commence sexual intercourse within the unclean physical condition.

In the words from the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh):
“This method is better, purer and cleaner”. (Reported through Abu Dawud)

  9. It’s permissible for a female to view all of the husband as well as for a male to view all of the wife, without necessity to go in to details. Because Allah Ta’ala says (interpretation from the meaning):

“And people who guard their sexual abstention (such as private parts by illegal sexual performs) except from their own wives and (the captives plus slaves) which their right hands have for then they’re free from blame however whoever looks for beyond that, after that those people are the transgressors”. (Surah al-Mu’minoon 23).

Review: Reception Dress

To me, my reception dress was as simple as it can get.. I didn't want something that was too dressy yet I wanted something elegant and timeless. And I was hoping that I can wear it again someday (dengan harapan tidak gemuk lepas ni haha) so it shouldn't be something too heavy or too colorful.

We bought the material at Jakel back in April. One thing we should have done though, was get a design first before buying the material. Guess we kinda worked backwards? The fabric that we bought was Italian Crepe, and I bought about 0.3 meters of french lace.

I sent the material for design and tailoring quite lambat jugak... I think about 5 weeks before the wedding. I was so glad to just be able to find a tailor that I liked, and also who would make my dress on such short notice.

The designer was kak Shifa, she's very patient and nice. She sketched out the dress for me according to my specifications and my liking and recommended certain things which she thought was practical for me to do/not do. Then masa pergi balik untuk fitting, she made sure everything fit well and did a re-measurement.

My dress looks like one piece kan? It's actually a two-piece outfit. :) Kain lebih, dijadikan veil dan shawl. The french lace tu wasn't enough for the whole front part of the veil so they did a bit of beading, which turned out very simple and sweet.

I have to say, the dress is made with very good workmanship. The patching is good and the beading is looks delicate yet is actually done pretty well. Harga pulak, really depends on the design and the material needed for the particular design. Drop by MixModa for a consultation.

Honeymoon Part I - Melbourne

Hello and Salaam! I'm feeling less depressed today about not being pregnant (dramatic tak? mengada gila) so let's talk about my honeymoon! :D

We went to a few places for our honeymoon. Macam mini world tour pulak rasanya.. haha. The route was something like KL - Melbourne - KL - London - Manchester - London - Barcelona - London omg nak type pun penat.

First leg of the honeymoon, we went to Melbourne to visit my family. We will be migrating there Inshallah by early next year, so this time around I brought your Abah to meet my family there (he's never met them before) and to just get a feel of the place, coz he's never been to Australia.

I think he fell in love with the place, Alhamdulillah. I know he was nervous about fitting in with the family and about the environment there but I'm so thankful that he loves the family and he loves the place, and he can't wait to move there too. :)

The first few days we spent in Fawkner with my auntie and cousins, and it's easier to get to the city by train. We love Melbourne city! We went everywhere by train/tram, it was so convenient.

We also went to Gumbaya Park, where you get to see and hang out with the animals. Cantik sangat tempat tu!

BUT the main reason we went to Melbourne.. is to see this little cutie! My cousin's baby Safiyya. :D

My other cousin Fairuz also had twin babies!! Takde gambar diorang yg elok pulak... but Fairuz ni, sangat creative. As our wedding present, she and her sister put together macam an "Amazing Race" thing for us.. and she called it the "The Amazing Date"! We had to go around Melbourne city, figuring out the clues in the envelopes and solving the puzzles... it was so fun!

One of the envelopes containing a clue

The first part of the date was a chocolate tour, best gilerrrr! The tour guide brought us around the nearby chocolatiers like Haigh's, Lindt, Koko Black and Chocolait for chocolate tasting. We tasted chocolates, macarons, ice cream.. ahhh heaven sangat!

Another highlight of the Amazing Date was a trip up the Eureka Skydeck. It's the tallest residential tower in the world and is 88 floors high. Sapa yang gayat, tak perlu datang ye. The lift nak naik from ground floor to the 88th floor pun took 38 seconds je!! Laju gila pls.

On the Eureka Skydeck, you can see a 360 degree view of Melbourne. It's so cantik, Mashallah. We went there just before sunset, so we saw the view before, during and after sunset. It was very romantic. :)

There was this other attraction on the skydeck, it's called The Edge. They put you into this glass box,  all the walls are glass, even the floor is glass... pastu at first the glass was tinted. So tak nampak apa2 outside. After the box tu dah projected out of the building, ada bunyi macam kaca pecah and BAM! the whole box becomes transparent and you can see the ground below! Gayat weyhhhh...

Besides all the above we just walked around the city, enjoying the weather, shopping sikit2... mostly just spending time with my family. So that was all for the first leg of our honeymoon, next stop - Manchester! :)
